About the event
(IHS fund raising event)
Curated by Naomi Jennings-O’Toole, a young art historian influenced by Eugene Halliday's ideas, working in collaboration with Hephzibah Yohannan, Halliday's and Schuftan’s biographer.
The German Jewish emigree artist Käthe Schuftan and Eugene Halliday were close friends and exhibited together in group exhibitions in Manchester in the 1940s and 1950s. Käthe was also a member of the Manchester Group of artists which included LS Lowry but was forgotten after her death in 1958. This is the first public exhibition of both their works since the 1950’s.
This is a free event but donations are invited and will be appreciated. Please visit our website for details of how to donate or use the doantion box on the day.
It is also possible for organised groups of 6 - 30 people to view the exhibition on other occasions prior to Easter by arrangement. Please call 0300 302 1936 to enquire.
